Customer Donations: Dorset Equine Rescue

From amazing customer service to providing donations, Coller Industries is all about helping others.

When one thinks of personalized identification, name tags come to mind almost immediately. However, personalized ribbons are a large part of identification needs as well. Coller Industries prides ourselves on our service, professionalism and production in these fantastic products. Our main focus is always helping our customers. As part of this, we often provide donations to those in need.

Once again, we were able to donate to a wonderful cause.

The Dorset Equine Rescue is a non-profit organization located in East Dorset, Vermont. The organization rescues horses and aids in the healing process which restores their health and wellness until they can be adopted.

Kayla Chilcote is hosting an event for the organization. “The mission and goals (for the event) are to raise money for the Equine Rescue so they can continue to give proper care and help pay for the costs they have to pay (for each of the horses they rehabilitate).”

The Dorset Equine Rescue strives to educate the community about all matters of horse care, health, and advocacy to continuously improve the long-honored and time-tested human-equine partnership.

The event that Chilcote is hosting in September will be to benefit the Gymkhana event. It is an event consisting of speed pattern racing and timed games for riders on horses. Often, these events emphasize children participation.

Coller Industries was able to help with the award ribbons for the event.

These award ribbons can be used for any competition or event. They have an attached event card on the back and a string through the top that can be used to display the ribbon. Available in first through tenth place and other titles. Each ribbon has a pinked bottom edge in order to reduce fraying.

“(I’m very grateful that your) company helped us out so we can give the ones who compete the ribbons they deserve since they have donated to the rescue,” said Chilcote.

Donation Spotlight: Classical Conversations

Another year and what a great way to start it out! Coller Industries is happy to say that we enjoy giving back to our community. And what better way to do that than with a donation of goods. This time around we are highlighting Classical Conversations.

“At Classical Conversations, we believe that every child is uniquely and wonderfully made. Classical Conversations exists to assist homeschooling parents in educating their children,” said Lynne Roberts, Challenge B Director, with Classical Conversations. “We believe there are three keys to a great education: the classical model of learning, taught within the framework of a Christ-centered worldview, in a supportive community.”

Homeschooling is a journey. Classical Conversations is with you every step of the way from little scribblers to the middle school years all the way through to graduation.

Roberts said, “We believe in cultivating great conversations. Nelson Mandela said, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.’ Through our challenge programs, we give the students an opportunity to become lifelong learners and lovers of God’s creation.”

Classical Conversations empowers parents to establish local communities in which parents and students meet once a week during the school year. Each community also consists of programs led by a trained parent-director.

Seven award ribbons were donated from Personalized Ribbons. Each ribbon will be awarded to eighth grade students who have participated in a science fair. Each student will present a hypothesis, procedure, results/conclusions and a research paper. In addition, they will present their findings by giving an oral presentation along with a science fair board. Each presentation will be given to the entire Classical Conversation St. Petersburg community, about 130 people.

As we have strive to keep busy in our communities, donations have truly set Coller Industries apart. And the best part is that we get to help and participate in extraordinary events such as this science fair!

Building School Spirit

Show pride in your school with two-color school spirit bows.

Each school spirit bow can be used in many different ways. Use them for chair decorations, hair ribbons or pom-pom accessories. And the best way to use them is by recognizing each student and helping them to develop positive feeling for themselves and the school. By helping all students to know of their worth, school spirit can be developed and shown in everything around the students.

While there are many ways to make and shape this type of bow, this is probably the easiest: Classic Pom-Pom Bows.

school spirit bows with personalized ribbons using satin acetate ribbon rolls Pom-pom bows are the fullest type of ribbon bows. To make this bow, you will need two very long pieces of ribbon; they will need to be the same length. The longer the pieces of ribbon, the fuller and bigger the bow will be. Start by matching the ribbons together, making sure that each of the ends match up. This puffy bow is then made by wrapping the ribbon around your fingers or another device, such as a ruler. The main point on this bow is that the loops are uniform in size. Start with five or six wraps. To make your bow larger, spread your fingers or use a longer object. To make it fuller, add more loops. After completing the wraps of ribbon, fold the loops in half. Tie the bow in the middle with a coordinating narrow ribbon or wire. Separate the loops one by one to the right and left from the inside out. Twist each ribbon loop toward you as you pull it from the center. Make sure that the colors are alternating in your bow.

While most ribbon will work for this project, make sure to use a ribbon that will be of the appropriate size for your project. The thinner the ribbon roll is, the smaller the bow will be. Also, Floral Satin Acetate ribbon or DYNA Floral Satin ribbon will typically hold the bow shape better than an Organza ribbon or Single/Double Face Satin ribbon will.
