In the heart of San Francisco, Curry Senior Center, named after its namesake Dr. Francis J. Curry, has been a leader and a lifeline to seniors for nearly 40 years. Right in their own neighborhood, seniors can easily access a wide range of integrated services through Curry, from health care to housing and everything in between; it is comprehensive care in a single setting.

“Curry Senior Center’s Annual Gala (Helping Hands, Healing Hearts) is the single largest fund raising effort for the organization each year. This is due to taking a highly personalized, family-focused approach to our sponsors and donors. Part of that focus includes the use of name badge ribbons to highlight leadership roles and award winners at the gala. These lend an air of sophistication and importance not previously experienced until our use of Coller Industries’ highest quality of products.” says Tod Thorpe, Director of Development at Curry Senior Center.

“Our mission is to provide services to seniors that promote independent living while maintaining their dignity and self-esteem,” explains Thorpe.

Curry Senior Center is where more than 2,000 seniors, regardless of income or insurance, have access to top-notch health care as well as meals, housing, and social services in their own neighborhood. This helps meet seniors’ essential needs and lets them stay as active and socially connected as possible as they age.

Badge ribbons can be printed with information to identify speakers, staff or an assortment of other functions during conferences and other meetings. The donated ribbons were all imprinted with different titles or awards to help the recipients stand out. Each of these ribbons can be fully personalized to meet any need.

“A ribbon may seem like a small thing but not when it makes our supporters feel special and cared for; that is priceless. Thanks to Coller Industries so much for your generosity!” expressed Thorpe.

Giving Back: Personalized Ribbons Edition

Giving back is what it’s all about!

From giving time and money to those in need, each year Coller Industries strives to give back to our local community. And, each year, we like to show the appreciation we receive for these generous gifts. It’s like a thank you for a thank you!

Annual Donation: Granite Education Foundation (from Name Tag Experience 12/15/15)

Every year Coller Industries makes an effort to recognize its employees during the holiday season. Part of this recognition tends to extend into the surrounding community. And, in turn, this translates to donations to various parts of our community. For the past six years, Clyde and Gary Coller, the CEO and President, respectively, of Coller Industries Incorporated have generously donated monetary benefits to The Granite Education Foundation.

“It makes us more responsible in the community,” said Gary Coller. “Hopefully our customers appreciate when they see that we give back to our own community.”

Coller Industries Incorporated started donating to the GEF in 2009 and to day has donated over $37,000. We are happy to continue our annual support of this wonderful foundation. And as employees here at Coller Industries, it is a pleasure knowing that our employer is so generous with their time and money.

The Granite Education Foundation provides educational opportunities for Granite School District students. They educate students, teachers and members of our community on positive ways to impact the community.

The Granite Education Foundation has kindly supported our business by giving us these wonderful notes and thank yous. And now here they are for you, as our reader, to enjoy!

“This year, Granite Education Foundation and students from throughout Granite School District wanted to express our heart-felt thanks for your continued generosity and support. Enclosed you will find hand-made Valentine’s Day cards that our students created with YOU in mind.

In our opinion, YOU’RE AWESOME SAUCE, Valentine! Thanks for believing in our mission and for the extra boost you give students. We couldn’t accomplish what we do without YOU. You are O-‘FISH’-ally our favorite!”

Logos On Ribbons

While ribbons are a great tool to use in the office or in commercial settings, the best use is adding personalized logos.

These logos can range from basic and simple, to somewhat complicated. By adding these logos to custom ribbons, whether they be ribbon rolls, badge ribbons or rosette ribbons, one can take full advantage of the advertising that comes from these wonderful tools.

A well designed logo is a mark of a well-run business. Adding a logo to to custom ribbons helps to associate employees and other that represent a company with a brand image that has been built for that company. Personalized Ribbons does require that these logos are provided in specific ways.

High quality artwork is required for all processes. All artwork will be reviewed by a designer and adjustments will be made to your order if necessary. These adjustments will be shown on a proof prior to production. Imprinted ribbons require black and white (one color) art files. Full color ribbons may be created using vector art or high quality bitmap files. Templates are also available to aid customers in the process of creating logos and placement for ribbons. All art received by Coller Industries Incorporated must be in compliance with all trademark, copyright, patent or related laws or acts and are the responsibility of the customer. And, as always, customer service is happy to assist where and when necessary.
VECTOR ART: Imprinted ribbons require vector art files.
BITMAP ART: Full color ribbons may use either vector or bitmap artwork (300 dpi or better).

With that being said, logos should be a fun way to express oneself. And what a great idea to help promote and brand a business or organization. Company branding helps to expands a business or really get the word out about the company’s purpose.
Corporate branding is the process of promoting the logo and/or brand name of a company or corporation for marketing and advertising purposes. Typically the range of a corporate brand is very broad and is often used as a way to express the company’s ideals and goals.
From corporate gifting to recruiting and retention of employees, this brand (or logo) will always come in handy. Use it to your advantage today by putting it on ribbons.

Introducing: Pantone Color of the Year

Pantone Color: What is it and how do we use it here at Coller Industries?

Every year since 2000, Pantone has released a “symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.” This color selection becomes more prominent throughout each year following the announcement, and is mostly seen in home décor, fashion and other similar areas.

And, for the first time in Pantone’s history, they have released a two-color scheme as the Color of the Year 2016; welcome Rose Quartz and Serenity!

As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent. Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.

In a webinar presented by Laurie Pressman, VP of the Pantone Color Institute, she expressed the means by which Pantone chooses the annual color release. “These colors are emotionally reflective of a social mindset,” explained Pressman during the webinar. “They truly are reflective of the tranquility and inner peace that consumers are looking for.”

pantone color of the year rose quartz and serenityWhile Personalized Ribbons doesn’t specifically take part in Pantone’s yearly celebration of the Pantone Color of the Year release, we do accept its importance.

However, as a custom ribbon provider, Personalized Ribbons is limited to how these colors might be expressed. While one simply cannot buy ribbons in Serenity or Rose Quartz, there are still several options to incorporate them into an order.

single face satin ribbon rollSingle face satin ribbon can be ordered in Quartz, but it is not a guaranteed color match to Rose Quartz; it is, however, close. But there is no close match for Serenity. Personalized Ribbons does offer several blues that will compliment Quartz.

There are several other ribbon roll options for quartz, including organza. Full color ribbon may also be personalized to a PMS color for either color or to include a logo or custom text. Badge ribbons can also be purchased using full color printing.

Here is a side note for color matching:

Pantone Matching System (PMS) colors are the best way to let us know what colors are expected. Personalized Ribbons will make reasonable efforts to match provided PMS colors. However, due to variations in materials, printer ribbons, equipment, and environmental factors preclude any guarantee of color. The color of imprinted logos and surfaces are also limited to available materials.

Donation Spotlight: Classical Conversations

Another year and what a great way to start it out! Coller Industries is happy to say that we enjoy giving back to our community. And what better way to do that than with a donation of goods. This time around we are highlighting Classical Conversations.

Classical Conversations Logo“At Classical Conversations, we believe that every child is uniquely and wonderfully made. Classical Conversations exists to assist homeschooling parents in educating their children,” said Lynne Roberts, Challenge B Director, with Classical Conversations. “We believe there are three keys to a great education: the classical model of learning, taught within the framework of a Christ-centered worldview, in a supportive community.”

Homeschooling is a journey. Classical Conversations is with you every step of the way from little scribblers to the middle school years all the way through to graduation.

Roberts said, “We believe in cultivating great conversations. Nelson Mandela said, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.’ Through our challenge programs, we give the students an opportunity to become lifelong learners and lovers of God’s creation.”

Classical Conversations empowers parents to establish local communities in which parents and students meet once a week during the school year. Each community also consists of programs led by a trained parent-director.

Each ribbon will be awarded to eighth grade students who have participated in a science fair. Each student will present a hypothesis, procedure, results/conclusions and a research paper. In addition, they will present their findings by giving an oral presentation along with a science fair board. Each presentation will be given to the entire Classical Conversation St. Petersburg community, about 130 people.

As we have strive to keep busy in our communities, donations have truly set Coller Industries apart. And the best part is that we get to help and participate in extraordinary events such as this science fair!
